Design Engine are delighted to announce that the recently completed Misk Schools campus has been recognised as National Winner at the 2024 MEED Project Awards and Education Project of the Year in the Middle East and North Africa.
Having won a major international competition in 2020 Design Engine were appointed as project design lead and delivery co-ordinator alongside BSBG. The new campus opened its doors in the summer of 2023.
The two awards add to recent accolades for the project that recognise sustainability and wellness.
Earlier this month the school achieved LEED Gold Certification, which is acknowledged globally as the most widely-used green building rating system.
In 2023, the school was awarded the WELL Pre-certification at Gold level, by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI).
We are delighted that the Misk Schools campus has been recognised as the best new school in the MENA region and would like to thank Misk Schools for all their support throughout the process from concept to completion. It has been a pleasure working with the entire design team and in particular BSBG, who were essential in guiding the project through to completion. A special thanks should also go to Simon Hall, who’s leadership throughout the process was second to none.
