Design Engine Architects’ first urban housing development for Enham Trust has been shortlisted for a 2015 Housing Design Award. Bradbury Place in Andover, Hampshire is one of 18 projects chosen from a field of over 100 completed entries. Bradbury Place has been specially designed to provide eight one – and two-bedroom wheelchair-accessible apartments, within 500 meters of the town-centre of Andover.
Enham Trust identified this site as one which, when developed, would bring people living with disability physically and socially closer to Andover and thus offer its clients better access to shops and services, present greater opportunity for them to find suitable work and therefore achieve greater self-reliance. Working within the constraints of a challenging site, Design Engine delivered a commercially viable scheme which exceeds all the clients’ requirements.
